My name is Gene and I live in San Leandro with my partner who also has live journal, which I have never read. I figured I should probably join so I can defend myself from whatever slander he is posting here about me. Seriously, I am 40, which is definitely not the new 30, I have no idea who said that but they are woefully misinformed; oh...don't get me wrong, 40 is fine and I would never go back, but 30 it is not. Right now I am looking for a job. I spent some time in China with a company that was not suited for me, so now it is on to the next thing. I work for food, or at least that is what my sign says when I am out on the road divider. My profession is in textiles, you know Fashion Darling....and I have spent the last 18 years tirelessly working in the garment industry in some managerial capacity. I would like to change professions, but we shall see what the new year brings; hopefully something, or it's off to Polk street in SF to sell my body, and I better hope they pay by the pound. In other news, I completed a Marathon last year and a half Marathon this year, right now deciding if I should do it again. I am posting a pic here of me and our dog Joey, we are both pretending we like having our picture taken here. I don't look anything like this, I have contorted my body in a way as to hide all of my chins. Well drop in from time to time, graby a Martini, which is definitly the drink of choice, and read what I have to say. I love to discuss politics and film; food and drink.....and of course, anything else that anyone might want to ask or discuss.
